if you have any
questions - Gendai Reiki Ho upgrade training for current Reiki Masters Reiki is a "folk healing art" that provides a way that you can find healing for yourself, your family and your friends. As the Reiki energy has evolved in the Western world, three levels of training are available. For those who have completed all three levels, there is also the possibility of becoming a teacher (Shihan) who can then assist others to attune to the Reiki energy. To embark on each level, a student must be attuned (initiated) by a Reiki Master (Shihan). And each "degree" is simply a gift that you give yourself - a deeper opportunity to discover yourself! The levels are:
All the training in Reiki is centered on five concepts that were first presented by Mikao Usui. One translation (from James Deacon's web site) of these precepts reads:
Reiki was brought to the
western world by Hawayo Takata. She first began to teach Reiki in
Canada in 1976. In recent years other teachers have come from
Japan, including Hiroshi Doi. I teach both |

Reiki I: First degree classes are taught in the Greater Toronto Area on a regular basis, and in other locations by arrangement. This training blends that of western Usui Reiki Ryoho, which follows the Takata tradition, along with Gendai Reiki Ho, which is based on the traditional Reiki practice that continues to exist in Japan. This training includes:
Typically, this workshop is taught in four sessions over a weekend, with classes being held in the morning and the afternoon. They can also be scheduled on a one-on-one basis for individuals who cannot attend the regularly scheduled sessions. The tuition for the training is $195.00 CDN. For additional information and to reserve your space, please contact Teri. Reiki II: Some individuals find that the First Level is sufficient for their needs. Others feel that they should go further in experiencing the energy and experience the Second Degree. This energy is not something that you can grasp and contain in a short period of time; rather, it is a walk of patience. In this workshop, the quality of Reiki energy improves through the attunements and the healing power gets twice as strong. Normally, students should wait at least three months after taking Reiki I before taking this second level, but I am willing to teach it whenever the student feels ready to receive. Material covered in the Reiki II class will include the use of three of the Reiki symbols. Students will learn how to focus the Reiki energy, work directly with the subconscious and the emotions, and do distance healings. These skills allow the Reiki student to more effectively deal with certain problems and situations. This training blends the western Usui Reiki Ryoho that follows the Takata tradition along with Gendai Reiki Ho, which is based on the traditional Reiki practice which continues to exist in Japan. This training includes:
For further information on Reiki II classes, please contact Teri. The tuition for Reiki II is $295.00 CDN. The attunements and class content are given in one day. An additional time is then scheduled at the student's convenience for additional one-on-one instruction and practice. Reiki III: This Third Degree of Reiki training is the highest level of energy in the Reiki tradition. Some Reiki traditions refer to this level as Advanced Reiki Training (ART). At this level, students become connected and resonate with the consciousness in the higher dimension; Reiki becomes a way of life. One attunement is performed and the fourth symbol and mantra is given. This training follows the Gendai Reiki Ho tradition that was brought to the western world by Sensei Hiroshi Doi, which is based on the traditional Reiki practice which continues to exist in Japan. This training includes:
For further information on Reiki III classes, please contact Teri. The tuition for Reiki III is $295.00 CDN. The attunement and class content are given in one day. An additional time is then scheduled at the student's convenience for additional one-on-one instruction and practice. Reiki Master Candidate Workshop: This is a one-day workshop designed for individuals who have 3rd degree through the Gendai Reiki Ho tradition. It is also open to 2nd degree students who would like to experience an intensive review of Reiki history, symbols, treatment techniques, etc. The fee for this workshop is $100.00 CDN and can then be applied toward either a 3rd degree class, or the Reiki Master training. This workshop will deal specifically with the requirements associated with the Reiki Master path, and will give participants the information necessary to determine whether or not to continue on that path. For further information on this workshop, please contact Teri.
Reiki Master (Shihan): This option is reserved for those individuals who feel drawn to this Practice, committed to Reiki as a way of BEING, and able to spend a period of time in a learning/mentoring relationship. Techniques will be taught, but more importantly, the student will learn how to become a clear channel for transmitting the Reiki energy. This training blends that of the western Usui Reiki Ryoho that follows the Takata tradition along with Gendai Reiki Ho, which is based on the traditional Reiki practice which continues to exist in Japan. During this time, you will learn and practice:
Please contact Mark if you want to pursue the possibility of such a relationship. The tuition for this training is $1,000.00 CDN. The length of training will be mutually agreed upon. Reiki will teach you and help you to discover yourself. This fee will be reduced for those who have taken Reiki III with me. Gendai Reiki Ho Shihan training: This two-day class is for Reiki Masters who desire to experience the training of Sensei Hiroshi Doi. Since the course is designed for an experienced Reiki Master, you must already have that training in some Reiki tradition. This a Japanese Reiki Master level class containing many aspects of original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho. Mr. Hiroshi Doi is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai in Japan, and author of the book Iyashino Gendai Reiki-ho (Modern Reiki Method For Healing). His school of Reiki is called Gendai Reiki-ho and his master level class is a one day workshop. His Gendai Reiki is a combination of traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho (URR) Gakkai Reiki, other Japanese healing techniques he has learned, and Western forms of Reiki. Doi-sensei asks that his system of Reiki be taught exactly as he presents it. So I teach one day as his master class, called Gokuikaiden (highest level). But, in order to give students a fuller picture of Doi-sensei's methods, I also add a BONUS day with two of his other workshops - URR and Gendai Reiju Workshops. Student is provided with videos of attunements done by Hiroshi Doi and Richard Rivard, plus an extensive series of manuals covering all levels of Gendhi Reiki Ho. The energy lineage of the class is Usui/Taketomi/Koyama/Doi/Rivard/Brewer. Please contact Mark if you already are a Reiki Master and want to pursue the possibility of upgrading to this lineage. The tuition for this training is $600.00 CDN. The workshop is two days long. |
